Marjorie Mabel Benshoof

Marjorie Mabel Benshoof, 83, of Angus, formerly of the Grand Junction and Rippey area, died April 4, 2007, at her home.

Marjorie deeded her body to Des Moines University. At a later date, interment will be in Bower Cemetery at Angus, which she tended for many years. Memorials to the family may be left at Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Rippey or at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry.

The daughter of Murray McComb and Mabel Jenkins McComb, Marjorie was born Sept. 16, 1923, in Grand Junction. She grew up in the Grand Junction and Rippey area and graduated from Rippey High School in 1939.

On Sept. 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to James Roy Benshoof at First Methodist Church in Perry. They were the parents of three sons, Kenton, David and Daniel. They first lived in Rippey and then in 1956 moved to a farm near Angus.

Marjorie was a lifetime homemaker. She was a member or the Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; two sons, David and Kenton; and sister Beverly.

Survivors include her son Daniel of Perry, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
