Rolland "Rollie" Lisle

Rolland Dee Lisle, son of Dean D. Lisle and Gladys Vivian Heckathorn Lisle, was born May 29, 1945 in Perry, Iowa and died Sept. 19, 2007, at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Services were held at 7 p. m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden.

Rollie, as he was lovingly known, graduated from Perry High School in 1965 and then completed barbering school at the Sioux City Barber School. He barbered at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Later, Rollie worked for the City of Perry for a year before joining Iowa Electric at the power plant. He was transferred to Iowa Falls where he worked as a truck driver/grounds man. IE later became Alliant Energy and Rollie retired in 2003 as a gas mechanic.

On Nov. 3, 1967, Rollie married Linda Lu Lape. They lived in Des Moines for a time and then Perry before moving to Alden in 1973. Rollie and Linda were parents of two sons: Steve and Blaine.

Rollie enjoyed NASCAR, camping, and his memberships in his church, Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden; Elks Lodge 1674 where he was past Exalted Ruler; Masonic Home Lodge 192, where he was Past Master a& Order of Eastern Star where he was Past Patron and Moose Lodge 1331.

Rollie was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law Owen and Alice Lape; brother-in-law, Albert Lape and sister-in-law, Glenda Swaink.

He is survived by his wife Linda; sons, Steve and wife Tonya of Woodward and Blaine of Alden; two grandsons, Dakota and Gage Lisle of Woodward; two sisters, Renee Wullenwaber and husband Dick of Perry and Deana Sheehy of Jamaica; two brothers, Larry and wife Karen of St. Louis, MO, and Robert and wife Carol of San Antonio, TX; nieces; nephews; aunt, Vina Latimer of Waukee; brother-in-law Bob Swank of Silver City; other relatives and many friends.
